The 69,781 SF building's high-tech flex space accommodates literally any research-and-development uses from standard offices to the most elaborate medical and technical laboratories, clean rooms and computer rooms. Tech 2000 also incorporates high-speed data transmission facilities and is linked directly to the University of Illinois' mainframe computer, allowing access to one of the world's most sophisticated systems.

Because Tech 2000 has multiple exterior entrances, individually controlled and metered heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems, each user's space functions as its own self-contained building. Floor plans feature open, limited-column spaces ideal for large laboratories. The 9' finished ceiling can be expanded to 14' for maximum flexibility, while perimeter windows are suited to private offices.
